Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
FGF2, FGF-2, FGF 2, Fibroblast Growth Factor 2, FGF 2, FGF2, Heparin-binding growth factor 2, HBGF-2, Basic fibroblast growth factor, bFGF, Putative heparin-binding growth factor 2, Kidney-derived growth factor
FGF-2 is a basic heparin binding growth factor that stimulates the proliferation of a wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal and endothelial cells. Recombinant rat FGF-2 is a single, non-glycosylated chain containing 145 amino acids and having a molecular weight of 16.3 kDa.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
E. coli-expressed recombinant rat FGF-2
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-FGF-2 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 5mM EDTA and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
The antibody can be used in Western Blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant rat FGF-2 (Cat.# 4039-10) can be used as a positive control.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
