Insulin stimulates glucose uptake in the muscles and adipose tissues by activating GLUT4 (Glucose Transporter Type 4). GLUT 4 is a transmembrane protein that facilitates glucose transport from storage sites to cell surface. Human insulin resistance involves a defect in GLUT4 that leads to accumulation in a dense membrane compartment from which insulin is unable to recruit GLUT4 to the cell surface.

This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot analysis (1-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. 3T3 cell lysate can be used as a positive control.

How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
