Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
Alpha-amylase 1, 1,4-alpha-D-glucan glucanohydrolase 1, Salivary alpha-amylase
α-Amylase is an enzyme that is normally produced in the saliva glands and pancreas in humans and in other mammals. α-Amylase catalyzes the cleavage of 1, 4-α-D-glucosidic bonds of large sμgar molecules into oligosaccharides and polysaccharides.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 492 of human α-Amylase.
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti- α-Amylase polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 5 mM EDTA and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot analysis (1-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
The anti-Alpha-Amylase Antibody is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood. This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
