Description
Solithromycin (CEM-101) is a "fourth-generation" macrolide antibiotic, that has three binding sites and is acid stable. The three binding sites confer activity against bacteria resistant to the older macrolides and ketolides. Solithromycin displays excellent in vitro activity against a broad spectrum of Gram-positive respiratory tract pathogens, including macrolide-resistant strains.
