Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
Fatty acid-binding protein, Adipocyte lipid-binding protein, ALBP, Adipocyte-type fatty acid-binding protein, A-FABP, AFABP, Fatty acid-binding protein 4, FABP4, FABP-4
Fatty Acid-binding Proteins (FABP) are a family of homologous 14-15 kDa cytoplasmic proteins that are expressed in highly tissue-specific manner and play an integral role in the balance between lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. FABPs have been reported to be involved in the uptake and metabolism of fatty acids, maintenance of cellular membrane fatty acids levels, intracellular trafficking, modulation of specific enzymes of lipid metabolic pathways, as well as in the modulation of cell growth and differentiation.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
E. coli-expressed recombinant human FABP4
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-human FABP4 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 5mM EDTA and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western Blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant human FABP4 (Cat.# 4504-25) can be used as a positive control.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
