Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
TGF-a, TGF-alpha, TGF alpha, TGFalpha, transforming growth factor alpha, EGF-like TGF, ETGF, TGF type 1
Transforming Growth Factor-alpha (TGF-α) stimulates the proliferation of a wide range of epidermal and epithelial cells. TGF-α has been shown to play a role in the autocrine growth of certain transformed cells.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
E. coli-expressed human TGF-α
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
30 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-human TGF-α polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Neutralization, ELISA
Western blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). Recombinant human TGF-a can be used as a positive control (Cat.# 4339-100). Per researcher’s feedback, the antibody can also be used in Neutralization (2-10 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
The anti-TGF-alpha Antibody is a α- or alpha protein sometimes glycoprotein present in blood. This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
