Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
CASP6, CASP-6 , MCH2
Caspase-6 is one of the major executioner caspases functioning in cellular apoptotic processes. Similar as other caspases, caspase-6 is also synthesized as an inactive pro-enzyme that is processed in cells undergoing apoptosis. Caspase-6 has also been shown involving in the proteolysis of poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and nuclear lamin A.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide mapping to the C-terminus of rat caspase-6 large fragment
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.2 mg/ml) rabbit anti-caspase-6 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01 thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml), and Immunohistochemistry (5 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Jurkat cell lysate (Cat.# 2401-100), mouse intestine (Cat.# 2601-100), and rat kidney (Cat. 2702-100) tissue lysate can be used as a positive controls. The antibody detects a full length (35 kDa) and the cleaved fragment (18 kDa) of caspase-6.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided. Human and some mouse caspases are active in apoptosis and cell death and even in necrosis and inflammation. CASP Gene and orthologous enzymes have been identifies successfully in the signal transduction cascade and pathways.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
