Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
Relaxin2, Relaxin-2, Relaxin 2 ,RLN2
Relaxin 2 is a peptide hormone produced by the copora lutea of the ovary during pregnancy in many mammalian species. It is secreted into the blood just before parturition to help facilitate the birth process. Like insulin, relaxin is a heterodimer of two peptide chains A and B that are covalently linked by disulfide bonds.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 98 of human Relaxin-2
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
200 µg (0.5 mg/ml) purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~21 kDa Relaxin-2 in samples from human origins. Reaction to other species has not been tested. A ~100 kDa unknown band can also be detected.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
