PTEN (phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome ten) phosphatase is a tumor suppressor gene implicated in a wide variety of human cancers. PTEN encodes the 403 amino acid polypeptide originally described as a dual-specificity protein phosphatase. The main substrates of PTEN are inositol phospholipids generated by the activation of the phosphoinositide 3 kinase (PI3K). PTEN is a major negative regulator of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Recombinant human full length PTEN
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) antigen affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, and 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation
Western blotting (1-2 µg/ml) and immunoprecipitation (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
