Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
SELE , LECAM2 , ESEL , ELAM , ELAM-1 , CD62E , ELAM1
Selectins are a family of carbohydrate-binding proteins involved in mediating cellular interactions with leukocytes. E-Selectin (also called ELMA-1, CD62E) expressed on endothelial cells. L-Selectin (also called LECAM-1) is expressed on the majority of B and naïve T cells and on most monocytes, neurophils and eosinophils. P-Selectin (also called GMP-140) expressed on activated platelets and endothelial cells. Selectins interact with specific carbohydrates expressed by activated endothelial cells, monocytes, and neutrophils.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 584 of human E-Selectin

Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5mg/ml) protein A purified rabbit anti-E-Selectin polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml) , Immunohistochemistry (paraffin, 10-20 µg/ml) and immunoprecipitation (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
