Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
MAP2K4, SERK1, MAPKKA, JNKK1, PRKMK4, MEK4
SAPK/Erk kinase (SEK1), also known as MKK4 or Jun kinase kinase (JNKK), activates the MAP kinase homologues SAPK and JNK in response to various cellular stresses and inflammatory cytokines. Activation of SEK1 occurs throμgh phosphorylation of serine and threonine residues at positions 257 and 261, respectively, by MEKK. Like MEK, SEK is a dual-specificity protein kinase that phosphorylates SAPK/JNK at a conserved T*PY* site in its activation loop. Phosphorylation by Akt at Ser80 inhibits SEK1 and suppresses the stress-activated signal transduction.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide surrounding Ser80 of human SEK1/MKK4
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) peptide affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, and 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (1-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes phosphorylated SEK1/MKK4/JKK1 of human, mouse, and rat origins.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
