GSK2578215A is a potent and highly selective leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) inhibitor (IC₅₀ values are 8.9 and 10.1 nM for LRRK2[G2019S] mutant and wild-type LRRK2 respectively). Shows selectivity for LRRK2 against a panel of 460 other kinases. GSK2578215A displays good blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability with a high ratio of brain to plasma distribution in mice.
