Description
TMP-153 is a selective inhibitor of acyl-CoA:cholesterol acyltransferase (ACAT) with IC₅₀ of 5 to 10 nM. It has potency to inhibit cholesterol esterification and reduces its influx into the plasma of rats and hamsters. TMP-153 is shown toxicity to prion infected neuronal (ScGT1) cells. It might have potential to increase caspase-3 activity and prostaglandin E2 production in ScGT1 Cells.
