Biological activity
Measured by its ability to activate Tie2 in human Tie2 transfected C6 rat glial cells. 0.2 μg/mL of rhANGPT2 significantly induces phosphorylation of human Tie2. Measured in a competitive binding assay. When Tie2 Fc Chimera is immobilized, rhAng2 inhibits binding of biotinylated rhAng-2.

Molecular Weight
This protein is fused with a 6×his tag at C-terminus and the protein has a calculated MW of 50.1 kDa. The predicted N-terminus is Asp68 & Tyr19. DTT-reduced protein migrates as 66-90 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation.

Physical form description
Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Generally 5-8% Mannitol or trehalose is added as a protectant before lyophilization.
Reconstitution Instructions
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in sterile PBS, pH 7.4 to a concentration of 50 µg/ml. Do not vortex. This solution can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 1 month. For extended storage, it is recommended to store at -20°C.
Handling
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening.
Usage
For Research Use Only! Not to be used in humans
Properties
Human proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
