Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
Apoptosis regulator BAK, Bcl-2-like protein 7
Bak is a homolog of apoptosis inhibitor Bcl-2. Bak is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins and contains Bcl-2 homology region (BH-) 1, 2 and 3. Unlike Bcl-2, Bak promotes cell death and counteracts the anti-apoptotic effect of Bcl-2. The immunoaffinity purified antibody detects a 30 kDa band, corresponding to the expected molecular weight of Bak on SDS-PAGE immunoblots.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Synthetic peptide mapping the N-terminus of human BAK1
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) peptide affinity purified rabbit anti-Bak polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 5 mM EDTA and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot analysis (1-4 µg/ml) and immunoprecipitation (5-20 µg/ml).
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
