Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
IL-18, IL18, IL 18, Interluekin-18, Interluekin 18, interluekin
Interleukin-18 (IL-18), an 18 kDa cytokine, is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 157 amino acids. IL-18 was previously known as interferon-g inducing factor (IGIF). This pleiotropic cytokine is produced by monocyte/macrophage cells. Like IL-12, IL-18 plays an important role in cell-mediated immune responses.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 41 of human IL-18
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-human IL-18 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunohistochemistry
Western blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant human IL-18 can be used as a positive control (Cat.# 4179-25).
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
