Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
p59ILK , ILK-1 , P59 , DKFZp686F1765
ILKs (Integrin-linked kinases) in combination with integrins and growth factors regulate cell survival, cell cycle, cell-cell adhesion and cell motility. ILK functions as a scaffold bridging the extra-cellular matrix (ECM) and growth factor receptors to the actin cytoskeleton throμgh interactions with integrin, PINCH (which links ILK to the RTKs via Nck2), CH-ILKBP and affixin. ILK phosphorylates several cellular targets including Akt, GSK-3, myosin light chain 2, as well as affixin. These phosphorylation events are key regulatory steps in modulating the activities of the targets.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human ILK-1
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml), Immunohistochemistry (10-20 µg/ml, frozen & paraffin). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes 59 kDa of ILK1 from samples of human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been determined.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
