Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
CCCTC-binding factor, Brother of the regulator of imprinted sites, Transcriptional repressor CTCFL, CTCF, CTCF paralog, CTCF T, CTCFL, Zinc finger protein CTCF-T
Brother of the regulator of imprinted sites (BORIS) is a transcription factor also known as CCCTC- binding factor like protein (CTCF). Boris is usually expressed at a high level in the testis which correlates with male germ cell development and is also abnormally activated in a broad range of human cancers. Boris can be found in the nucles as well as in the cytoplasm.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 14 of rat BORIS
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-Boris polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol and 0.01% Thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Other applications have not been tested. The antibody detects ~76 kDa of Boris in samples from human, mouse and rat origins.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
