Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
HD1, HD-1, HDAC-1, HDAC1 product, Histone Deacetylase 1, RPD3, RPD3L1, Reduced Potassium Dependency 3, Like-1
HDAC1 is an active component of transcriptional corepressor complexes which can be recruited to specific promoter regions via transcriptional factors. HDAC1 catalyzes removal of acetyl-groups from acetyl-lysines of histones and promotes compaction of chromatin in these regions, which leads to the inhibition of gene transcription.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of human HDAC1
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) peptide affinity purified rabbit anti-HDAC1 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml), Immunoprecipitation (10-20 µg/ml), and Immunohistochemistry (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects the 62 kDa histone deacetylase 1. It does not cross-react with other HDAC proteins including HDAC2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
