Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
PRKACA , MGC102831, PKACA , MGC48865
Protein kinase A (PKA) also known as cAMP-dependent protein kinase, is a 40 kDa protein kinase that phosphorylates serine or threonine residues in target proteins in response to elevated levels of cAMP. It has been sμggested that the complex structure of PKA may be necessary for it to accomplish such diverse functions.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat, bovine
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 11 of the catalytic subunit of human PKA alpha isoform
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-PKA polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation
Western blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml) and in immunoprecipitation (20-30 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
