Survivin is a newly described apoptosis inhibitor that is expressed in many human cancers, but undetectable in terminally differentiated adult tissues. It has been shown that recombinant expression of Survivin conteracts apoptosis of B lymphocyte precursors deprived of interleukin 3 (IL-3), sμggesting a potential role of Survivin in cancer therapy. Survivin interacts with the processed form of caspase-3 and inhibits its proteolytic activity.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acids near the C-terminus of mouse survivin
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.2 mg/ml) affinity-purified rabbit anti-Survivin polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot analysis (0.5 - 2 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The immunoaffinity purified antibody detects an approximately 17 kDa mouse survivin by Western blot analysis. Mouse spleen tissue lysate can be used as positive control.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
