Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
CHEK2 , CHK2 , CDS1 , RAD53 , LFS2 , HuCds1, PP1425, OTTHUMP00000028871
Chk2 is the mammalian homologue of yeast Cds1/Rad53. In response to DNA damage, a checkpoint kinase ATM phosphorylates and activates Chk2, which in turn phosphorylates and activates p53. Chk2 also phosphorylates and activates BRCA1, the product of a tumor suppressor gene that is mutated in breast and ovarian cancer.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid near the N-terminus of human Chk2
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-Chk2 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunofluorescence
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml) and immunofluorescence (5-10 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
