Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
FAF1 (CT), Fas-associated protein 1, hFAF1, HFAF1s, TNFRSF6, TNFRSF6 associated factor 1 antibody, FAF1
FAF1 (Fas-associated protein factor 1) specifically interacts with the cytoplasmic domain of wild type, but not mutated, Fas in both yeast and mammalian cells. When transiently expressed in T cells, FAF1 potentiates Fas-induced apoptosis. In contrast to TRADD, FADD, and RIP, FAF1 lacks a DDH (Death domain homologous region) and cannot induce apoptosis independent of Fas activation.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding amino acid 640 of human FAF1
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-FAF1 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml) and in immunoprecipitation and Immunohistochemistry. However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Rat kidney cell lysate can be used as a positive control.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
