The matrix metalloproteinases (MMP) are a family of peptidase enzymes responsible for the degradation of extracellular matrix components, including collagen, gelatin, fibronectin, laminin and proteoglycan. MMP-17 (also designated MT-MMP4 or MT4-MMP) is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored proteinase and is mainly expressed in the brain, leukocytes, colon, ovary and testis.

This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (1-4 µg/ml), immunoprecipitation, and Immunohistochemistry. However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes the 62 kDa MMP-17 of human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.

The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
