Decorin is a member of the small, leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family along with biglycan. Found in the interterritorial region of cartilage, decorin interacts with collagen and other matrix proteins to regulate the cartilaginous matrix. It has been shown to interact with fibronectin, thrombospondin, C1q, epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and TGF-β. It is believed that decorin also plays a role in the cell cycle of chondrocytes.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat, rabbit, pig
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 130 of human Decorin
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-Decorin polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 25% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, and 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (5 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Other applications have not been determined. The antibody detects ~32 kDa Decorin in samples from human origin. Jurkat cell lysate can be used as a positive control. Cross-reactivity to mouse, rat, pig and rabbit is expected due to sequence homology.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
