Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
JUN , AP1 , p39 , c-Jun
Extracellular stimuli such as growth factors and UV irradiation stimulate phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser63/73 and activate c-Jun dependent transcription. Mutation at Ser63/73 renders c-Jun nonresponsive to mitogenic and stress induced signaling pathways. JNK (c-Jun N-terminal Kinase) binds to the N-terminal region of c-Jun and phosphorylates c-Jun at Ser63/73. The activity of JNK is stimulated by the same signals that activate c-Jun.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Recombinant human c-Jun (1-79)-GST fution protein
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-c-Jun polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunohistochemistry
Western blotting (0.5-2 µg/ml) and Immunohistochemistry (20-40 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody only recognizes c-Jun, and will not detect the endogenous levels of Jun B or Jun D.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
