Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
ECM1, extracellular matrix protein, extracellular matrix protein 1
Stearoyl-CoA desaturase (SCD) is a regulatory enzyme involved in the synthesis of oleate and palmitoleate. Oleate and palmitoleate are the main components of membrane phospholipid, triglycerides and cholesterol esters. SCD plays an important role in cellular cholesterol homeostasis and also in the secretion processes of triacylglycerol and phospholipid. Inhibition of SCD could be a useful treatment for metabollic disorders such as obesity and hepatic steatosis.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding amino acids 546 of mouse ECM-1
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-ECM-1 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~61 kDa ECM-1 of human, mouse, and rat origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
