Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
CALB, CALB1, RTVL-H protein, calbindin 1, calbindin 1
Calbindin-D-28K (also known as vitamin D-dependant calcium binding protein) belongs to a family of low molecular weight calcium-binding proteins (CaBPs). Calbindin-D-28K is found mostly in subpopulations of central and peripheral nervous system nuerons and also in certain epithelial cells involved in Ca2+ transport.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding amino acids 191 of mouse Calbindin -D-28K
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-Calbindin-D-28K polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~28 kDa Calbindin- D-28K of human, mouse, rat, and monkey origins. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
