Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
MYC , C-MYC , c-Myc
Epitope tags are usually for the labeling and detection of proteins using immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation and immunostaining techniques. Due to their small size, they are unlikely to affect the tagged protein’s biochemical properties. The Myc epitope tag is widely used to detect expression of recombinant proteins in bacteria, yeast, insect and mammalian systems.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding amino acid 413 of human c-Myc
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) peptide affinity purified rabbit anti-Myc-Tag polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS, pH 7.2), containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot, Immunoprecipitation, Immunofluorescence
Western blotting (1-2 µg/ml), immunoprecipitation (20-40 µg/ml), and immunocytochemistry (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody detects Myc-Tag proteins overexpressed in cells. It does not detect endogenous levels of the transcription factor c-Myc.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
