Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
Ciliary neurotrophic factor
CNTF (Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor) is a potent neural factor that was originally characterized as a survivability factor for chick ciliary neurons in vitro. CNTF has also been shown to promote survivability and differentiation of other neuronal cell types. CNTF is a 22.9 kDa protein containing 200 amino acid residues.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
E. coli expressed recombinant human CNTF
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
30 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-human CNTF polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Recombinant human CNTF (Cat.# 4017-20) can be used as a positive control.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
