Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
LIF; CDF; D-FACTOR; HILDA
Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a lymphoid factor that promotes long-term maintenance of embryonic stem cells by suppressing spontaneous differentiation. LIF has several functions such as cholinergic neuron differentiation, control of stem cell pluripotency, bone & fat metabolism, mitogenesis of factor dependent cell lines & promotion of megakaryocyte production in vivo. Human and mouse LIF exhibit a 78% identity in its amino acid sequence. Human LIF is as active on human cells as is it is on mouse cells, thoμgh mouse LIF is about 1000 fold less active on human cells, than human LIF.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
E. coli-expressed recombinant human LIF
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
100 µg (0.5 mg/ml) antigen affinity purified rabbit anti-human LIF polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 50% glycerol and 0.02% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
The antibody can be used for Western blot analysis (0.5-1 µg/ml), ELISA (2-3 µg/ml), and neutralization (0.5-1 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
