Target of this antibody:
Alternative names of antibody target:
chemokine C-X-C motif receptor 4, chemokine receptor 4
CXCR4 (fusin) is a member in the seven-transmembrane domain G-protein-coupled chemokine receptor family. The full-length cDNA was isolated from a human spleen cDNA library. Its ligand is chemokine stroma-derived factor (SDF). CXCR4 has been shown to be the co-receptor for HIV-1 binding to CD4 throμgh the viral envelope glycoprotein gp120. In other cases, CXCR4 can function as the only receptor for the interaction of HIV-2 with CD4 and host cells. A mouse monoclonal antibody (12G5) to CXCR4 has been shown to inhibit HIV infectivity and HIV-induced syncytium.
Clonality of antibody:
This antibody reacts with:
Human, mouse, rat
Synthetic peptide surrounding amino acid 18 of mouse CXCR4
Concentration of antibody:
Form of antibody:
Formulation of this antibody:
30 µg (0.5 mg/ml) affinity purified rabbit anti-CXCR4 polyclonal antibody in phosphate buffered saline (PBS), pH 7.2, containing 30% glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.01% thimerosal.
This antibody has been succesfully tested for use in following methods:
Western blot analysis (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. Blocking peptide (Cat.# 5541BP-50) is available separately.
Shelf time: 12 months in temp.: -20 deg.C
How to handle this antibody:
The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.
This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by Biovision they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
