Details

Background
Renin is an aspartyl protease that is specific for only one substrate, angiotensinogen. Prorenin is a glycosylated aspartic protease that consists of 2 homologous lobes and is the precursor of renin. Prorenin exhibits a low level of enzymatic activity relative to renin. BioVision’s human renin is produced from the proenzyme prorenin by proteolytic cleavage of a 43 amino acid N-terminal prosegment using limited enzymatic digestion by immobilized trypsin and purified by affinity chromatography. Conversion to active renin is>99.99 percent.

Properties
Human proteins, cDNA and human recombinants are used in human reactive ELISA kits and to produce anti-human mono and polyclonal antibodies. Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
